Frequently asked questions
What is screen-printing?
Screen printing is a stencil method of print making in which a design is imposed on a screen of silk or other fine mesh, with blank areas coated with an impermeable substance, and ink is forced through the mesh onto the printing surface. It is also known as silk screening or serigraphy.
I just need a few shirts. Can you guys do that?
In a word. NO.
In more words. YES, IF YOU HAVE A LARGE BUDGET.
Our minimum order is designed to cover the setup costs of each order. Because screen printing takes a lot of time to prepare on the front end we require at least 12 pieces of each screen made.
Can I get this tomorrow?
Our standard turnaround is 10 business days. One week to order shirts in and another week to schedule the print. Sometimes jobs can be turned around more quickly if needed. (Rush charges may apply)
Why does adding colors to the design cost more?
Each color of the design requires an individual screen so we must separate the design into its component colors – and that my friend takes time.
Can I pick different colored shirts or do they all have to be the same?
When it comes to the color of the t-shirt – follow your heart.
That said, the ink color for a single job has to remain the same, so choose your ink and shirt colors wisely.
I REALLY want the design in different colors, will you change the ink color if I beg?
If you’re willing to beg, AND pay our $25 ink change fee, then yes – your wish is our command.
Can I combine different sizes in an order or do they all have to be the same?
An order can be comprised of a mix of sizes and colors. We stock womens: Small, Medium, and Large.
unisex: Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large
XXLarge shirts can be ordered for an additional cost.
You guys printed some shirts for me awhile ago but my friend didn’t order one. How long do you keep the screens? And, can you just print one up for me?
Our screens are recyclable and are washed out on a weekly basis. That means the screen we used for the job we printed for you last week, may or may not still be around. If it is, you’re in luck, we may print a few more for you out of the goodness of our own hearts. However, if it’s been longer than a week – we can offer no promises. Your re-order will have to be 12 pieces and is subject to the original pricing.
We want you to print our team uniforms with each one of our names and numbers on the back, can you do that?
Unfortunately we can’t do that for the same reason we can’t just print one shirt. It’s cost-prohibitive. For each name and number we would have to cut a separate screen, increasing the time, and labor costs.
How long do you keep my art on file?
Unless ninjas break in and steal our computers and backup harddrives, we will have your artwork forever on file.
We heard you guys have the best design team around, so if I need a design of a goat, on a boat, in a moat you can do that for me?
Yes. Our design team is quite skilled at getting whatever it is you want on a shirt. Our design time bills at $35 per hour. With the average design taking a little under an hour.
You guys print only on American Apparel?
We print PRIMARILY on American Apparel t-shirts. They’re soft, durable and made from a high-quality ring-spun cotton right here in the U.S. They have a wide array of color options and blends and we like that too. If you’d like to save a few bucks and go with a different brand we’re happy to order those for you too, just ask! The pricing for those brands like Hanes, Gildan, Jerzees, and Enza tend to fluctuate a bit but are generally around $2 less per shirt.
